An April wedding in the heart of Kalami Bay.

As you can probably guess, the majority of my clients are British folk who are coming from the UK to have their dream wedding here in Corfu. However, this wasn't the case with this particular wedding. Jenny & Kenny are actually well known here in Corfu, owning their own kayaking business up in Kalami Bay! They live here most months of the year, getting literally the best of both worlds. So you can only imagine how chuffed I was when they reached out to me to organise their dream day. This, plus the fact that it was the first wedding of the season, meant that I had to make sure I pulled out all the stops to make this day completely perfect, no pressure!

This special day began up at their rented villa, for them to begin the getting ready process. I arranged for my in house photographer to meet them there early to capture them getting ready, getting those all important details shots. During that time, I was kept busy down at the beach arranging all the flowers, the chairs, setting the carpet, organising the table and making sure everything was running smoothly with all my vendors.

So far so good, and so with everything in check, the guests slowly began arriving. Let the day begin!

From the very get go of our talks together, I knew that Jenny had her heart set on having orange bougainvillea florals for her special day. Pink bougainvillea is very common here on this stunning island, but orange... not so much. This was a real challenge! However the people pleaser in me shone through, and I went out of my way to ensure that she had her dream florals. And wow, did those colours pop against the lush blues and greens of the island. They definitely did not disappoint. Thank you to my best florist for making this possible!

Dressed in his dapper suit for the day, Kenny arrived down onto the beach, ready and waiting excitedly for his bride. With the guests seated in my carefully placed chairs, Jenny arrived looking absolutely stunning, with her lovely dad walking her down the aisle. Kenny looked to be exploding with pride when he saw his beautiful bride to be, pure love bursting from within.

And so commenced the most beautiful ceremony, with my wonderful celebrant blessing the couple, and my photographer hopping around getting all the best shots (we call her bunny on speed!!!).

Jenny and Kenny both really liked the idea of keeping the Greek tradition of throwing rice after the ceremony (as opposed to the British tradition of throwing petals), which causes for great photos! And lots of laughter all round.

Following on, I then organised all the guests to line up along the shore, and for everyone to make a wish on to a pebble and to throw it into the sea all in unison. This was a special wish for Jenny & Kenny, as it's believed that the pebbles will wash up again onto the shore of Kalami Bay, wherein the happy couple spend most of their summer days.

What a cherished, special moment on such a perfect day.

It was then time for all the guests to head off in the bus that I had arranged to transport them all to the reception venue, whilst the happy couple had a few quick portraits taken.

Being lovers of the sea, Jenny and Kenny both had dreams of arriving to their reception by boat. So of course I had to make that happen, and they loved it! The smiles on their faces make it so worth it.

And so they arrived to their reception venue; one of the best restaurants in San Stefanos! The sit down 4 course meal was absolutely incredible and every plate was cleared. And have I mentioned the droolworthy naked wedding cake adorned with fresh flowers, made and delivered by our star cake maker here at LoveIsCorfuWeddings?!

Following the meal came the loveliest speeches, the cutting of the (mouthwatering!) cake, and...

Fireworks and sparklers!!! Can this day get any better?!

This truly amazing day ended with a first dance and the after party, with a singer serenading them til the night was done. Everyone then headed home after the after party on the bus I had organised for.

And I didn't fall asleep that night till I received the text that everyone got home safely.

Jenny & Kenny, what an incredible couple you guys are. You made this day so beautiful, and I still am so chuffed that you chose me to bring everything together for you. I loved every second of it, and hope that you did too.

The smiles on your faces was the biggest gift I could ever receive.

Jenny and Kenny of Kalami Bay, your future together is just beginning.

Cheers to you two.

"We would like to say a massive thank you to Janet at loveiscorfuweddings! Words cannot express how amazing our wedding was on Kalami beach. Janet was recommended on Facebook and once we spoke over email I knew she understood everything we had dreamt about for our wedding day! Even with the challenges of the unknown like covid and choosing April which can have rain, Janet covered all options and pulled off the most beautiful beach wedding, delivering on everything we had wanted. Every detail was thought about from the vows and Greek traditions like the stone wishes!

All the other contacts Janet recommended from the transport, flowers who managed to get the colour and flowers I wanted even out of season! The cake maker Claire which everyone commented was the most amazing cake they have eaten! To our photographer Jess and Harriet our celebrant who incorporated beautiful words and Greek traditions and even gave us a keep sake box for us to remember our special day all special touches they did not have to do but went the extra mile which we are very grateful for and can not highly recommend enough. Any wedding you have dreamed of in Corfu Janet and her team can make happen, memories and friends made for life! Would just like to do it all again and we would not change a thing! Pure perfection

All the best Jenny and Kenny from the of the beach XX"
