Claire & Kevin
A very Scottish Ceremony
St Peter's, Lefkimmi
Here at Loveiscorfuweddings we always love it when our couples bring their home traditions with them, as well as adding a little Greek touch.
Claire and Kevin really did embrace this. Kevin and his best men in The Spirit of Bannockburn tartan kilts.
The tradional ceremony continued with a Quaich Cup filled withwhiskey. When Claire & Kevin symbolically tied the knot they sealed this with a wedding drink from the cup.
We suggested adding into the bouguets and flowers the Scottish Thistle and scourced the correct tartan ribbon from scotland to keep the theme going.
As Loveiscorfuweddings are based in Corfu all year round we always love to suggest ideas to make the day as unforgetable as possible byadding some Greek customs to bring the two cultures together,. With this in mind we suggested Greek musicans to play tradtional Corfiot wedding songs as Claire walked up to the aisle.
Claire and Kevin wished to have a wedding reception with family and close friends with a sharing plates of freshly cooked BBQ meats and mouthwatering salads acompanied by local Greek wines, always leaving a little room for the wedding cake!
Claire really loved carrot cake so we suggested a moist passion cake with a buttercream topping and decorated with fresh flowers.
As the party got started, what better way to start the evenings proceedings than with a flurry of fireworks, a total surprise for all the guests to enjoy.
The evening continued with Corfu DJ Alekos spinning the tunes as they all danced the night away.
